You may place the Chicken Coop on uneven ground, and this will flatten the area required for the Coop for an extra charge. You can place a Chicken Coop on a field, but this will destroy the part of the field that's under the Chicken Coop. You may place a Chicken Coop on any surface that does not contain any solid object, including houses, permanent roads, other Placeables, trees, vehicles, and so on (painted gravel and concrete surfaces do not count as actual roads).
